I am a 28 year old female. I've had one pregnancy at 23 years old. My stretch marks all exist below the belly button. The skin in that area definitely is not as tight as it once was, but I wouldn't label it as saggy either. I am wanting to know what location, features, measurements a surgeon is looking for when determining the need for a tummy tuck before liposculpture, and at what point it is deemed necessary? Thank you for your help!
Answer: Liposuction or tummy tuck Based on your photos a tummy tuck is recommended for you. There is excess fat and skin that would be addressed as well as stretch marks. Typically after pregnancy patients have either muscle wall laxity, separation, or both. This too can be addressed with a tummy tuck but not liposuction. I've included a video on deciding between the two procedures that I hope you find helpful.

Answer: Tummy tuck and Liposuction candidate Thank you for your question. Based on the picture you get better results after a tummy tuck with intense liposuction in your stomach, waist and laterals. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results. Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Answer: Liposculpture without a tummy tuck? Hello @Phenomenal997725 thank you for your question and showing your pictures. A tummy tuck is a surgical procedure whose purpose is to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen, to strengthen the muscles of the abdominal wall, abdominal lipolysis, abdominal diastasis repair, skin removal with umbilical reconstruction depending on patient characteristics. There are 4 factors that are taking into account when it comes to the abdomen shape: Lax skin, diastasis recti, fat under the skin and intra abdominal fat. The first two are treated with a tummy tuck and the latter with lipolysis made with liposuction. On the other hand with a liposculture procedure we take out fat from all parts of the body to make it more harmonious. If you just have lipo without the Tummy tuck you are not going to like the results because the skin and the abdomen would look kind of weird, that is why is necessary to have the 2 procedures in my opinion. Best wishes. Alan Gonzalez MD

Answer: Tummy tuck Dear Phenomenal997725, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Liposuction Candidate -- VASER HI DEF Liposculpture, ThermiRF, Fat Grafting, Renuvion, Inmode BodyTite, See an Expert You need a formal evaluation by an expert in body shaping and contouring to determine what is best. The best in body contouring not only removes fat with energy devices like VASER ultrasound but also internally heats the skin with radiofrequency devices such as Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite, and ThermiRF to heat the undersurface of the skin and tighten it at the same time as fat removal. These combinations are called 4D HI-DEF VASER Liposuction and can only be done by a well-trained body contouring specialist. At the same time, fat should be harvested and purified, with PRP and stem cells added, and then injected into muscles, indentations and cellulite to get body shaping and contouring. For a Brazilian butt lift (BBL), we inject the fat into the buttock for contouring and lifting, but fat can also be used in areas such as the chest/breast, arms/shoulders, calves and face. Cellulite should also be treated with a combination of QWO or Cellfina, subcision, and/or fillers such as Bellafill, Renuva synthetic fat, or Sculptra. If skin is very loose before surgery, then it will need to be removed: tummy tuck/abdominoplasty for lower abdominal skin; breast lift for excess breast skin; and/or a brachioplasty for loose arm skin. Overall, you need a full assessment, but simple liposuction alone will not tighten skin and needs a combination of various methods -- fat removal, skin tightening, defining, fat grafting, skin removal -- to get the best in body contouring and body sculpting. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
