I am at post op day 9. The first 4 days I slept sitting up. Now I've been sleeping on my back in bed, not elevated, as cleared by my surgeon. In the mornings when I wake up I have really bad pain in the breasts, it takes a while after sitting up for it to go away, and then it's fine until the next morning. I wonder how long it takes for this to stop?
Answer: Wear your bra while sleeping Sometimes patients may find that wearing a good bra that provides support for the breasts throughout the first eight weeks of recovery helps alleviate discomfort. This also prevents the implants from being displaced. You may also want sleep a little more elevated. If this doesn't work, ask your surgeon for their advice. Medication may help.

Answer: Your Pain Should Fade Soon I'm sorry to read about your discomfort. Although many patients are feeling significantly better by day 9, your symptoms are not unusual and are not a cause for concern. With confidence I would expect gradual improvement over the next few weeks. It would be unusual for any pain to persist beyond 8 weeks. You should also feel comfortable to contact your surgeon with your concerns.

Answer: Morning pain after breast augmentation. Breast pain after a breast augmentation is not uncommon. Be sure to discuss this with your surgeon at your next follow up visit. You can try sleeping slightly elevated for another week and see if your pain improves and gradually start to sleep on your back again. Everyone heals at different rates and your body may just need a little more time to get back on track. I suspect it will gradually decrease as time goes on. Keep an eye on it and discuss with your surgeon. ac

Answer: BA and pain post op This is not uncommon in patients havinf submuscuar augmentation. Contact you surgeon and he will most like prescribe a muscle relaxant for you. The pain will go away, it is just a matter of time. Contact your surgeon and ask how much arm movement he allows. Muscle spasm is common since the pectoralis muscle is being stretched. You will have less spasm with mildly increased arm movement. Cal your surgeon for his recommendations
