Question

hello, I am a 21 year old girl, I have no children and I have no known particular medical situation. My arms have always been a big complex for me, especially since my upper arms are deformed compared to the rest. I wanted to get informed about liposuction. can I be a good candidate? I am 160 cm tall and I weigh 80 kg. My upper arm circumference is 36cm. Also, I'm afraid of the risks that could be linked, that if there is any organ or nerve damage I could lose the use of my arm? Thank you

Liposuction can be done.  However, your arm skin may hang.  You may also benefit from a brachioplasty either long incision or transverse incision.

Considering your age and good skin tone, liposuction of the arms may be a good solution. Providing that liposuction is not too aggressive one could expect your skin to retract completely without need for excision. However, that possibility should be considered! In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in body contouring surgery is recommended. Good luck.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it looks like you would be a better candidate for an arm lift than liposuction. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

You seem like an excellent candidate for arm liposuction.

The key to getting good results and having an overall good experience is to find the most experienced and talented board-certified plastic surgeon for armlip section in your community.

The best way to do this is to schedule multiple in person consultations. During each consultation ask each provider to show their entire collection of arm liposuction before and after pictures.

An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you 30 or more sets of before and after pictures for arm liposuction results.

Seeing a handful of representative or typical results is insufficient to understand what average results are since Surgeons typically just show the best results of their career.

This is in sufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of that provider or how many of these procedures they’ve actually done.

Highly experienced providers will have several hundred before and after pictures of just arm liposuction results.

Delivering consistent high-quality and Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of choosing providers who have sufficient experience and skill with this procedure.

Hi and welcome to our forum!From your photos, I note full upper arms associated with excess skin. Based upon height and weight information, your BMI is 31.25. BMI, or body mass index (weight in kg / square of height in meters) is one criterion to determine the results of a cosmetic surgery. You can find BMI calculators on the internet. If your BMI is greater than 30, the cosmetic result will not be optimal. If your BMI is greater than 35, your operative risk will rise. A liposuction procedure of the upper arms removes fat only, while a brachioplasty removes excess skin and underlying fat. If there is a moderate amount of fat present (with its associated added weight), if the skin demonstrates no evidence of overstretching (stretch marks), and if the sag is only minimal to moderate, a liposuction may correct the deformity. On the other hand, if there is stretched out skin, only a brachioplasty can achieve correction. However, one must accept a scar from armpit to elbow. The scar is placed on the inside (medial side) of the arm to minimize exposure, but the scar is readily apparent in certain positions. The mini-arm lift is not of much benefit. Photos may be deceiving, but it appears that you may be best served with brachioplasty. Seek a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon.Best wishes...
