I have a variety of neck rolls that I don't see on a lot of people. When my head is up you can't really see it, but you do when my neck folds. I'm posting a picture of each situation so you can see properly. I am 5.2ft, 167 lbs and 21yo. I see bigger people than me with slim necks all the time. Can someone explain why I have this ? Is it genetic (I'm half mexican) ? Is it just because I'm overweight? Most importantly, can I do something to improve it and how much would it cost ? Thank you.
Answer: Neck Lines / Tech Neck / Neck Wrinkles -- Soft Fillers (Belotero) in combination w/ Lasers and Microneedling/PRP "Injecting soft fillers like Belotero in this area can reduce lines, wrinkles and folds as well as improve skin texture with long-term collagen production. Fillers are being used more frequently to contour and lift rather than solely line fill. Of course, fillers are best used in combination with lasers and microneedling with PRP to get the optimal outcome. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to create an individualized treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer"

Answer: Genetics can cause double chin Thank you for your pictures and questions. Some people are genetically prone to having a double chin, and you might be one of them. However, if you were to lose weight, you would likely see a great improvement in this area, since the adipose tissue of your neck will shrink, thereby improving the look of your neck. If weight loss does not improve the situation to your liking, you might want to consider liposuction of the neck to remove the excess fat, and to improve the contour of the neck and jawline. Liposuction is performed with tiny cannulas that are inserted through small incisions behind your ears in a spot that nobody sees. The small cannulas remove fat and help to sculpt and define your jawline with precision. I recommend consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon in person to discuss your concerns to determine if neck liposuction is appropriate for you. The price can vary greatly, depending on the instrumentation used, the skill of the surgeon, and the quality of the facility.

Answer: What causes me to have horizantal neck rolls? Can I do something about them with plastic surgery? This banding is a result of genetics. I would prefer an in-person examination. I would like check your neck fat content and the skin elasticity. It seems you do not have an obvious skin laxity. You do not have platysma bands either. It seems the best way to begin with will be neck and submittal liposuction. But I would like offer a significant weight loss as a first step.

Answer: What Causes Horizontal Neck Rolls Such banding is a common result of genetics. The presence of banding down the front of the #neck, and, amount of excess skin and condition of your skin are among some factors which determine if you are a #candidate for #rejuvenating the neck. During an in-person examination, your chin will be evaluated along with the neck and jawline. A weak #chin implies a lack of chin support for the skin along the neck line. Per your photos, great amount of laxity is not evident. Nor is vertical banding . So, you may benefit from #non-surgical treatments. #Liposuction may also be an #option. I suggest consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon to learn about the #options and products available and as to which may be best for you.

Answer: Lose weight It's best to lose the weight first before you consider any surgery. You may be able to see a difference in your neck, making surgery unnecessary. Aim for achieving a stable weight that puts you in a normal BMI range. You'll enjoy the health benefits of being at a better weight! It's very hard to say why you have neck folds, but it is often caused by genetics.
