I'm Asian and want a slimmer face, should I do a Neck Lift or Chin Liposuction? (photos)

At your age, a lift of any type (necklift, facelift, minilift) would not be appropriate.  And I would agree with the others that buccal fat (cheek fat) removal would also be minimally helpful or a poor choice.It looks like a small chin implant and conservative submental liposuction could add elegance and length to your jawline.  Done correctly, they make you look like you have lost weight, and make the face more refined.  Very simple procedures, often done in the clinic under local anesthesia too.  In office consults are key to get a better feel for your choices.  The pictures are helpful, but offices like ours have imaging systems that can show you projections when considering lipo or chin augmentation, so you can get a preliminary visual for expectations.  That way you and your physician can have accurate conversations about the potential of the procedures, and how they relate to what you would like to see as well.

​Volume and contouring of the cheeks can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra. Implants or fat are alternatives. Botox and radiofrequency can help slim and contour the jawline. Liposuction can help slim the face. Ultherapy, J Plasma and RF treatments can provide skin tightening and lift. Neck Lift vs Lipo - How to DecideLipo vs Neck Lift or both? It all depends on your exam - Your plastic surgeon will evaluate you for three main features:1.Amount of excess fat (needs lipo or direct removal).2.Presence of Significant Platysmal Banding (requires playsmaplasy or Botox)3.Amount of excess Skin and condition of your skin. For example younger age, darker skin colors (Asians tend to have good skin elasticity) and no large weight loss history means there will be better elasticity and therefore better post surgical contraction. In milder cases if not too much fat is present there will be enough skin shrinkage with just lipo alone. However for moderate and severe skin redundancy a neck lift or lower facelift is needed with or without lipo for best results. Mild to minimal skin tightening using non surgical means like the Sciton Laser SkinTyte procedure, Ultherapy or Thermage could also be considered. As you are young, I would recommend just doing Liposuction both in the upper neck as well as micro lipo in the jowl area.  Thermage and Ultherapy will not address the fat component of your problem and at best result in mild skin tightening in my experience but may be helpful in your case after the lipo procedure.In your particular case probably just lipo and maybe a non-surgical skin tightening procedure would be a good place to start though an exam would be required for the best advice.

your face is not abnormally round or fat for 23.  it is typical that faces will lose the "baby fat" through the late 20's- 30's and I would strongly recommend avoiding any major surgery.Most importantly I would avoid any recommendations to remove buccal fat.  I have been referred a number of young asian woman patients who had their buccal fat pad removed to make the face slimmer and were very unhappy.  It seems to create a disproportionate loss of cheek volume in the young asian face.

Liposuction of the jawline/under chin-neck areas is so easy to undergo under local anesthesia and makes such a great improvement in most everyone for roughly $2500 on special. You can drive yourself home and go to work after 1 day. Sincerely, David Hansen,MD

There are some techniques which may make your face look slimmer. Although you have some excess fat under your chin, removing it may not give you the slimmer face you are looking for. You may consider consulting with a board certified doctor with expertise in Asian cosmetic surgery. A facial evaluation may help you determine what is right for you.

I think a small chin implant in addition to a limited liposuction of the cheeks would give you the best result.  Injections in the chin could help a small amount but the implant would give the best contour without looking unnatural.  You also might want to consider Thermismooth for the cheeks in lieu of the liposuction.

You are very young and your face should continue to mature as you grow older.First, liposuction of the cheeks can be very dangerous because important nerves to your mouth can be damaged and give you a crooked smile.Based on your photograph you do not have a lot of fat beneath her chin and a chin liposuction will have no effect on the fullness of your face so I would not do that.A facelift or neck lift alone will not make your face thinner.  Please do not have a facelift.I honestly believe you should wait a few more years to see how you'll mature before considering any surgical intervention.

There are a few things you can consider.  First of all, you do have a bit of a recessive chin.  You would better balance your lower face with some type of augmentation...either a filler or implant.  Next, a bit of microliposculpting to your face and neck to provide more shape would help.  I believe you need some filler to your cheek area to give you more of a heart shaped face
