6 months Results: FUE 2583, unhappy with results. What can I do now? (photo)

You may have had graft loss after surgery. In addition, not all the grafts may have take (failed grafts). Ultimately you won't really know until you see results in 8 to 12 months.

6 month results are not really worth discussing because they are not final results.  Reserve judgement until 12-18 months, repost, and then the physicians on this website can provide more meaningful answers rather than just guessing.

At this point you need to wait another at least 4 months to see what comes in from the last transplant. Then consult for an additional FUE to correct the hairline and then SMP to address the donor depletion. Please find a small punch FUE clinic such as ours in Tijuana.

Thank you for your message and congrats on following through with your hair restoration. The best advice at this point is to let it grow and follow any directives that were given by your doctor. Though you may have seen some growth at this point, it is early to see the full result from your procedure. Usually at 18 months the full result can be evaluated and in some cases it may even take longer. You have had a  large procedure and will most likely have a great result. If you are unhappy with the results at the 18 month mark, my advice is to express it with your doctor and give the doctor a chance to discuss it and address whatever issue you may have.Again, congrats on your procedure and we hope your results exceed your expectations.

You don't include preop photos so it is difficult to evaluate the hairline results.  Regardless, it takes 8-12 months to see final results.  Wait at least 8 months, then go see you r surgeon to review preop photos, discuss results and further options.  In the meantime, if you're not using preventatives such as finasteride (Propecia), minoxidil (Rogaine), Laser therapy (LLLT) and perhaps platelet-rich plasma (PRP) you should consider doing so.  Getting a transplant does not keep you from losing native hair. 

I would recommend that you first look for a good restoration Doctor in your area to make sure you are able to get the proper care when needed.  If you go for another FUE to address the hairline, I do video consultations to help answer any questions you may have.  Keep in mind that you still have about 6 more months of growth to determine what really comes from the 2nd procedure.  As for the donor depletion, SMP is a very good option to hide the FUE & FUT scarring.

Great question, First of all, 6 months is too soon to see the full hair transplant results, so It may take 15 or more months for the final results after the 2nd surgery. It is very difficult to make any comments with one photo only, also I don't know you age, any hair loss medical treatments, personal history, expectations, goals, etc. Each case is different but to mention that you will need only 2 surgeries in your lifetime, it sounds that you have wrong expectations.  My best advice is: you should contact your hair surgeon for the 6 months follow-up or ask for a 2nd opinion with a local hair loss and experienced surgeon. Good luck.

There are several reasons you are having problems, but the main issue is that you did not have a good solid plan going forward from the beginning. Many times, younger patients have hair restoration surgery when they should not have leaving them with situation where they have to chase the newly created hair line as natural hair recedes. Moving forward, don't be in a rush, and find a local, reputable doctor that can follow you for years and repair your problem. 

You may be caught in a trap, getting hair transplants without having a Master Plan for your hairline restoration.  You need a good doctor and a good plan. Better late than never
