Answer: Addressing Mons Lift in Body Contouring Procedures Post Weight Loss Hello PRM1, Your question regarding the best approach for addressing a sagging or hanging mons (pubic region) after significant weight loss is quite pertinent. Both a 360 body lift and a traditional abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) are effective procedures that can be utilized to address concerns in the pubic area. When undergoing a 360 body lift, the procedure involves circumferential removal of excess skin and fat from the abdomen, hips, lower back, and buttocks. This comprehensive approach also addresses the mons region, as the lifting and tightening effects naturally extend to this area. The aim is to create a harmonious, smoother contour from the abdomen through to the lower regions, including the mons. Similarly, a tummy tuck focuses on the abdominal area but can also be tailored to include a mons lift. In cases where there is significant sagging or protrusion of the mons, specific surgical techniques can be incorporated into the tummy tuck to lift and reshape this area. This often involves removing excess skin and fat, and sometimes liposuction can be used to reduce volume and improve contour. It's important to discuss your specific goals and concerns with your plastic surgeon. They can tailor the surgical plan to address the mons area effectively, whether as part of a 360 body lift or a tummy tuck. The key is to create a balanced and aesthetically pleasing result that aligns with your overall body contouring goals. Long story short, both a 360 body lift and a tummy tuck can effectively address issues in the mons region following significant weight loss. Your plastic surgeon will guide you in choosing the most suitable procedure based on your individual case and aesthetic objectives. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Monsplasty with tummy tuck This is a great question! I do monsplasty as part of all my abdominoplasty surgeries- I do lipo over the area if needed, and make the abdominoplasty incision lower so that the mons is lifted. But... not all surgeons do this. And if you have surgery with someone who isn't "mons aware" it could result in this area looking puffy below your newly flat tummy. I definitely recommend bringing this up at your consultation!
