Are there doctors in California that do expanders? I know a lot of girls talk about expanders so you don’t have to do multiple surgeries. So like ones that could go up to 3000. How long do they last? I mean it’s really over filled saline.
Answer: Breast Expanders Breast expanders are generally used after a mastectomy for breast reconstruction. It is not a one surgery deal. In fact when expanders are used it is regarded as a staged or 2 stage reconstruction. The breast expander is placed and in a couple of weeks the expander is activated by filling it with saline and in some cases there are expanders that can be filled with CO2 remotely. This is done incrementally until the desired volume or size is reached or the skin cant stretch anymore. Then a period of time is allowed to pass to allow the capsule to mature. Once this time is up, then the patient is returned to the operating room to remove the expander and have an implant placed. The largest silicone implant that we currently have on the market is 800 cc and the largest saline implant goes up to 960 cc and in certain cases it called be filled up to 1100 cc.Hope that helps.

Answer: Who specializes in XL breast implants? I have specialized in XL breast implants for many years. Yes, you should be able to go bigger with an open capsultomy and if not enough room then placement of a tissue expander and then switching to a custom silicone breast implant. XL implants are my specialty. I am fortunate to have a special arrangement with a couple of companies to get XL tissue expanders as well as xl custom silicone implants.
