By asking if you can "go back" from 2500 cc implants, it depends on what you are asking. Can you remove extremely large implants? Yes. Will the skin be permanently damaged after extreme implants? Yes. One of the hardest things to do as a plastic surgeon is to say no to a patient, but we have an ethical duty to avoid procedures that will knowingly and irreversibly harm a patient. Extremely large implants function as tissue expanders, and the skin and tissue would not be expected to bounce back without additional surgical intervention when implants like this are removed.
Yes, you skin will stretch and will need a lift if she wants to be smaller. I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with. Finally, make sure your surgeon is a Double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).Best,Dr. DesaiBeverly Hills Institute for Aesthetic Plastic SurgeryHarvard Educated, Beverly Hills & Miami Beach TrainedDouble Board-Certified, Double Fellowship-Trained Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon
I don’t know what you mean by never go back. I do feel however that you would be poorly advised to get such large implants. Carrying them around for a few years will convince you of that. Try to choose something not nearly that large.
Thank you for your question. The real answer is no. As plastic surgeons, it is our job to always have a solution for a problem. That being said, taking a breast that has been expanded to that volume and getting it back to a normal breast can be a very complex procedure and one that involves multiple operations and stages with major risk and also excessive cost. So the answer is that yes, it can be done, but I would never advise anyone to pursue this type of breast enhancement, it is not worth trying to fix it in the end. And no respectable board certified plastic surgeon would offer a result like that to a patient so if someone is offering it, beware!Hope this helps!
and work in the circus, certainly this can be done. Most people would not want that and I would really want to know your motivations for wanting that look. That being said, if you had that and wanted to downsize to something normal in size, you can do that but your tissue coverage will be extremely thin, you will have anchor mastopexy scars, and you will have problems related to your implant such as rippling. Risks for losing your nipple are also higher and real possibilities resorting to nipple grafts to preserve it.
any surgeon doing this is wouldn’t really have the patients best interests at heart. This is a ridiculous size and would destroy existing tissues.Nilesh Sojitra
Hahahaha. Thats pretty funny. Yeah no. No surgeon in their right mind would do this to a women. Pretty much they are tissue expanders an once those are in the skin will stretch and sag. It will pretty much destroy any breast over time. Not a good idea for any human being.
No, this is not true. Downsizing of breast implant volume can be done. There are a variety of different options available depending on what the patient's size goals are. For example, if a patient wishes to downsize significantly, adjustment of the breast implant capsules along with breast lifting necessary. More modest downsizing goals may not require breast lifting surgery. In other words, it usually requires several operations to achieve the "extra large" look; it may require several operations to downsize, as well. Exactly what the different operations would involve, can vary depending on the patient's specific situation and goals. I hope this helps.
The simple answer is that is not true but I would recommend evaluation in person and a discussion of desired final results with an expert in the field after a full examination Dr Corbin
I have specialized in XL breast implants for many years. You definitely can have them reduced but you may need some sort of uplift at same time to remove the excess skin. I woiuld suggest you visit my website specifically for XL patients below.I am available for FACETIME/SKYPE/Whatsup video consultations.
I would recommend calling your plastic surgeon as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the implant will need to be removed and the wound closed. Once healing is complete, you can have the implant replaced. Best of luck. Ziyad Hammoudeh, MD
It would be hard to determine which implant size will be best for you without an in-person examination. Your best resource of information regarding this would be your surgeon. He/she knows your condition best.
Exchange to silicone implants does not completely eliminate rippling. You likely have thinned out tissue from your previous implants for 10 years. Follow up with your plastic surgeon for an opinion. Fat grafting may be an option for you to help eliminate rippling. Best wishes.
