Hi, I had a mini tummy tuck 4 months ago. Since day one I have been concerned with what appears to be 2 pouches of fat on either side of my belly button. I had hoped that it was just odd swelling but the problem has gotten even worse as time has went on. It looks like bull dog jowels to me. Also there is fullness above my belly button. My doctor brushes me off when I ask about it and says I am too picky. I am not pleased with this result. Does it look like I need those areas liposuctioned?

Answer: Mini tummy tuck Hi, Thank you for your post. I am sorry that you are unhappy with your results. At 4 months out you should have a good idea of what the end results will be. I would recommend setting up a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to see what your options are. Often a full tummy tuck is needed to see the results that you are looking for.

Answer: Mini tummy tuck rarely works Unfortunately, mini tummy tuck rarely works. For the vast majority of patients, the standard or hip-to-hip incision technique is the only thing that can give them smoother results and flatter stomach. Patients are sometimes deterred by the standard tummy tuck's longer incision and so they opt for mini tummy tuck. Paradoxically, the longer incision allows more control over the final result and promotes proper wound closure, which of course results in favorable scars. Good luck and best wishes.
