I had Xeomin 2 weeks ago in my forehead dropped to my eyebrows. Swollen and painful, how long will this last? (photo)

Thanks for your question and the photo you provided. Make sure you follow up with your injector. They know where they injected you and how many units. They can also recommend over the counter treatments for pain and in you are having an eyelid droop as well. These symptoms can last 6 weeks. Good luck

I’m sorry you are going through a rough time. It is  very unusual to have persistent pain weeks after xeomin injection and as far as drooping is concerned, unfortunately it will take time for it to reverse. You should start seeing improvement within a month and progressive improvement until it is all gone in 3 to 4 months. 

Xeomin typically lasts about 3-4 months. It can take about a month for a brow that has dropped from Xeomin injections to lift back up. Pain is not normal after Xeomin injection and I would contact your doctor as soon as possible regarding this.

Hi Heidi. Botox, Xeomin and Dysport results results take up to 1-2 weeks to settle in, last up to 3 to 4 months, and can be softened with Venus Legacy and Thermage treatments. I’m sorry that this has happened. The good news is that this won’t last forever. Without seeing before photos of where your brow sat previously I would give an estimation of it lifting within another 2-4.
Worst case it could last the duration of product life 3-4 months but this would worst case.

I would always advise a review appointment with your practitioner as there maybe some injection points to help with lift.

Xeomin locks the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which triggers the muscle contractions that create wrinkles. Xeomin essentially paralyze the muscles and stops them from contracting. Results from these treatments are visible within 3-7 days with results that can last anywhere from 3-4 months. Follow up with your injector for an in person evaluation to discuss your concerns. 

The eye brow correction depends on the muscle in your brow, but can last up to a month. Please go see a. board certified dermatologist for review.
