10 units of Xeomin for 11s 3 days ago, no change

For this area, 10 units of Xeomin is a very conservative number. It is common to use twice this amount for this location. It is also very early to see the result for Xeomin. Give it at least a week. Depending on your muscle "bulk" and activity, you will see some effect. The result of this first treatment and it's duration will give you a good idea about how much Xeomin to use next time. It typically takes about 4-7 days for a toxin to kick in/notice a difference in your muscle movement, but may take up to 2 weeks. If in 2 weeks there is no change, you should go back to your provider for additional units, although, 10 units may give you a result. Dose is equivalent to duration and as long as you are dosed appropriately you should see longevity and results with your product.

Hi @eliza2705. Typically the full effect of neurotoxins take about 2 weeks to kick in. 10 units is a conservative dose for the glabella region.

It is still too early to see any results with Xeomin. Usually 2 weeks would be the amount of time you would wait to see the full results of the treatment. 10 units is a very conservative amount and usually an average of 18 units is administered. I would wait the 2 weeks and if you are not happy, go back to your injector. Best of luck!

Xeomin injections usually start to take effect 5-7 days after treatment, and will reach their maximum effect by around days 7-10 after injection.  I would wait the full 10 days to determine whether or not the Xeomin is working.  That being said, I rarely use less than 20 units in the glabella, and may use much higher doses in some patients.  I always advise contacting the doctor who injected you with any questions or concerns that you might have.

Neurotoxins like, Xeomin and Botox requires days to a week to fully work for first time users.  The second session the response appears to be more rapid.  The 11's or lines caused by the muscles that control the inner brows are very powerful and require a significant amount of the Xeomin or Botox and they often are best after the second or third sessions, which are spaced 3 1/2 to 4 months apart.

Dear Xeomin is generally an on off switch for muscle activity. I get a fair amount of actors/actresses in my practice that are looking to reduce wrinkles but keep some expression. Most of patients see first changes after 4-7 days and the final results after 10-14 days.Daniel Barrett, MD

It can take up to 2 weeks for final results. I would wait a full 2 weeks before assessing whether you need a touch-up. Best, Dr. Emer

It is O.K. to start out conservatively for your first time! Many patients are nervous with neurotoxin injections the first time that they have it done. Although 10 units is fairly conservative for that particular area, (20 units is average for the glabella), it may be too soon to see the restriction in movement. Everyone is a little different, but it may take a full two weeks until the neurotoxin is in full effect.
