I’m 28 but Microsoft’s age detector keeps confusing me for 35. Why does my face look old? How can I fix it?

I recently uploaded a bunch of my pictures to the website how-old.net and it keeps saying I’m in my mid 30s when I’m only 28! I already get Juvederm (I currently have too much in my cheeks) and Botox. My dermatologist says there isn’t much else for me to do besides wear sunscreen. Is there something about my face that looks old? If so, how can I fix it?

There are many contributing factors that influence how our age is perceived.  Some are genetically driven and some are lifestyle driven.  Wearing sunscreen every day, eating a healthy diet and not smoking are things you can directly do to protect your skin.  Treatments such as chemical peels, fillers, and Botox can help with an overall youthful appearance.  It is also recommended to use medical grade skin care.  See a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to learn more.

Your key driving factor for any facial plastic procedure should be your personal desire to improve something about yourself, and this desire should not be decided by anyone else, including Microsoft. Please consider Juvederm and other non-surgical procedures to maintain your youthful appearance. Hi, thank you for your question. I think you look great! You should not worry about what Microsoft of Facebook or Instagram thinks. As long as you feel comfortable in your skin and you take good care of it, you're more than good. I think the injections you already get are gonna make your natural beauty last even longer. It doesn't seem to me that you have too much in your cheeks. That being said, sunscreen is always a good idea! Any season and any weather calls for a good sunscreen. Best of luck!

It is quite fascinating how 'we perceive' age as it pertains to facial forms. The 'computer' typically will look at 'fullness' and 'skeletal form'. Eg lip fullness, fullness close to actual cheekbone/lower lid and the facial height (reduces with aging changes in the bone contours). Not to worry but one can look at various factors including facial bone support; and then choose to alter some contours at your election.
