6 days post Juvederm lip injections- blanched lumps (Photo)

Question

I have two large “blanched” and sore lumps in my bottom lip. Today is day 6 and the lumps on my bottom lips seemed to have gotten more prominent. Is this normal or should I have them removed?

There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1 to 2 weeks after injection. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 minutes at a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question and photos. I would suggest calling the doctor that did the injections and have your lips looked at. It is not expected, in my experience, for those lumps to look as they do and also to be getting bigger.

Hi there,Since you are only 6 days out from the injections, I recommend waiting the full 2 weeks to allow for all swelling to subside.  The "lumps" might improve gradually.  If not, you can talk with your injector about the options you have to reduce them.BH
