Hello, and thank you for your question. In general, African American patients want to achieve the following goals with their rhinoplasty: make the nostrils narrower, increase the projection of the nose when looking at the profile, improve the definition of the tip, and create a nose that is balanced with their other facial features. Because some nasal characteristics are more common in African American noses, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, ideally one who is an ethnic rhinoplasty specialist as well. Your surgeon should identify your unique features, determine the appropriate surgical technique to address your needs and goals, and ensure the best possible results.
Rhinoplasty can be very different between races and ethnicities. This is because the anatomy can vary so much. Also it is very important for the surgeon to understand the goals of the patient and not to create the “same nose” on everyone. Your nose looks to be very “bottom” heavy, wide and thick. The upper portion looks like it might be low. And you have a lot of heaviness of your brow over your nose. Rhinoplasty for you will probably be a bit more involved that’s on others and will probably require significant grafting. You should be able to see a big change but should not expect a thin, sleek sculpted result. Be careful as you get your consultations. Good luck.
African american rhinoplasty typically involves 4 different components. Some patients need them all, some only one or two. Here are the 4 components.1. Improvement of the bridge height with an implant.2. Narrowing of the wide upper nose (bony part) with osteotomies.3. Narrowing of the tip (Tip-plasty)4. Narrowing of the nostrils (Alarplasty)You need only alarplasty and tip-plastyRegardsDr. J
Hi,The anatomical structure of your nose may have developed by genetically, but it is possible to turn into a natural nose structure with rhinoplasty surgery. The nose is a structure formed by various cartilage and bone structures together with certain proportion and dynamics. For this reason,...
Hello, and thank you for your question. Fillers take about two to three weeks to fully settle into your skin. Also, If injected properly, facial filler should not migrate drastically to other parts of your face. That said, I highly recommend only seeking treatments from a reputable injector....
