Hello, I have contemplated getting surgery on my nose. I just always have a picture of myself in my head and when I see my profile in the mirror my nose just doesn't feel like me. Is there such a thing as a partial dorsal hump removal? Would I need to change additional things to balance my nose out? How much would you estimate the price range? Never broken but have had black and blue all the way across and under eyes from trauma. My family has similar nose but mines the largest.
Answer: Are you a candidate for rhinoplasty? Here's what you need to know Hello, and thank you for providing images along with your question. Based on these images, you appear to be an ideal candidate for rhinoplasty, particularly a reduction rhinoplasty to address the dorsal hump. Because rhinoplasty is one of the most complex plastic surgery procedures, I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with a reputable board-certified facial plastic surgeon, particularly one with a strong rhinoplasty portfolio. Your surgeon will evaluate your nose, recommend the best course of action to address your concerns and goals, and help ensure the best possible outcome. Such experts will have an eye for facial symmetry too and may recommend other procedures (e.g., fillers, lasers, and other skin-tightening treatments) to help achieve facial balance.

Answer: Personalized Rhinoplasty Results What I love most about rhinoplasty surgery is how completely customizable it is! No two rhinoplasties are ever exactly the same because each is based on what the patient possesses anatomically, as well as what the patient wants. You are the only one who wakes up and looks in the mirror and sees what you see; therefore, you are the only one who can decide if you want to leave some of the dorsal hump. I have performed partial removals of the hump for some patients, while others want the hump removed completely. It’s all up to you – and you alone. I request that my patients bring in pictures of noses they like, as well as noses they dislike, so that we are on the same page about aesthetics. I agree with you that you have a large dorsal hump that can be filed down, but again, if you want to retain some element of the hump, that is totally fine! Another recommendation to help balance your nose, as per your question, would be to consider addressing your tip. If you wanted – but only if you wanted – this could be trimmed and reshaped so that the nose doesn’t plunge upon smiling. I recommend consulting in person with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and expectations and see which procedures are right for you. The price can vary greatly based on the experience of surgeon, as the most experienced surgeons produce the most consistent results.

Answer: Rhinoplasty, partialhump removal: Rhinoplasty, partial hump removal: based on your photos you would appear to be an excellent candidate for a rhinoplasty. I don’t think very many plastic surgeons would recommend leaving part of the hump behind in a female. Earlier in my practice the few people that asked for that type of approach later wished they had not. You may have a slightly strong chin in terms of its forward projection. For this you may wish to consider a genioplasty. At any rate I would consult with a few rhinoplasty specialists before making a final decision.

Answer: Dorsal hump removal Hi,The anatomical structure of your nose may have developed by genetically, but it is possible to turn into a natural nose structure with rhinoplasty surgery. The nose is a structure formed by various cartilage and bone structures together with certain proportion and dynamics. For this reason, an intervention only for the nasal dorsal hump is generally not sufficient, as there should be a holistic point of view in the surgery.Have a nice day.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty, I think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. In your case, there is no partial hump removal, just an appropriate removal. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Best wishes to you.
