CoolSculpting after Tummy Tuck to fix upper abs. Will this work for me?

Question

I had aTummy tuck back in 2011 and just gain some fat on my upper abs it not a lot but I notice every time I wear a form fitting dress and it's not enough for lipo. Anyone can tell would it work on me?

We do this often on patients several years out from their TT. However, without a picture I can't really tell you my opinion because it all depends on how your tissue lays out. So the short answer is yes, it is possible but you would need an in person consultation with a great cool sculpt provider who has great experience. Best of Luck.

Personally, I see much better results with liposuction (Vaser ultrasound or Smart Lipo laser for skin tightening as well) rather than cool sculpting after tummy tuck for residual fat. I do not suction this at the same time as tummy tuck to avoid skin healing problems.An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon who performs these procedures is recommended to confirm you are a candidate as well as discuss your options and expectations.

Tummy tuck surgery optimally tightens the skin and removes loose stretched out areas following pregnancy. In addition liposuction is frequently performed and can significantly help with contours and body sculpting. In some cases when patients have small spot areas that are asymmetric following a tummy tuck procedure look for SculpSure  to treat these minor contour deformities. However should this not work then consideration for in office touch up like a suction can be very helpful.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.   There are several options which could work including liposuction and possible revisional tummy tuck.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. hello. Thanks for your inquiry. Coolsculpt would work great for that problem of upper abdominal fat pad.  As long as the machine can suction "in" the area .   And as long as it not a muscle weakness recurrence after the tummy tuck. Good luck

Hello, and thank you for the excellent question! CoolSculpting works best to eliminate "pockets" of stubborn and hard to get rid of fat on patients who are already at or near their ideal weight. It seems like you may fit this description however it is hard to tell without seeing any photos of you to assess. In order for CoolSculpting to work it also must be fat in the areas you are trying to treat, and not loose skin or muscle. I recommend you schedule an in person consultation with an experienced CoolSculpting provider so that they can assess your skin and fat in person and tell you what is best for you. Good luck!

Thank you for your questions.  It is difficult to determine if you would be a good candidate for coolsculpting in this area without any photos.  If you have pockets of localized fat and good skin elasticity, you might be a good candidate for CoolSculpting, you may have a better result with liposuction.  An in person consultation would be necessary to give precise recommendations.
