Maybe I'm an outlier but I haven't been convinced, not having read double-blind placebo-controlled studies, that there are toxins or dead fat cells that can be flushed out by drinking water. I know that this has been taught for decades since the evolution of Endermologie (suction and kneading the skin to reduce cellulite), but fat cells that die, are processed in the subcutaneous plane underneath the skin by immune cells, called macrophages, which then pass through our lymphatic fluid circulation to our liver where they are processed and then the degraded byproducts are excreted with feces. I'm not sure that drinking a huge amount of water will help the lymphatic system circulate better. Most of my patients that have had CoolSculpting on their abdomens and flanks since I started doing CoolSculpting about seven years ago, have very good results without being told to drink copious amounts of water. Certainly, drinking enough water daily is important for good health in general, but too much water can actually negatively affect our electrolyte balance and create serious illness.
There is no reason to drink an excessive amount of water after CoolSculpting. The normal 8 to 10 glasses of water per day should be sufficient to help your body begin to break down and filter out the components of the destroyed fat cells. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who has expertise with CoolSculpting to find out if you are a candidate for this highly effective and permanent fat-loss technique.
Drinking water after CoolSculpting will help with flushing toxins and fat cells, however, it is not necessary to drink such an abundance of water. Make sure that you are staying hydrated and healthy and your results should follow.
It's important to stay hydrated, but you don't need to drink a gallon of water a day. Keep in mind, for best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and skin smoothing. VASER with ThermiRF is a great alternative. See an expert. Thank you for your question. This is not true and does not impact your results.Regards,
While it is important to stay hydrated before and after the CoolSculpting process, you definitely do not need to drink a gallon of water a day. The results from CoolSculpting are gradual and take place over a period of 3-6 months.
While there is no requirement for how much water you drink after your Coolsculpting procedure, it is very important that you do consume a lot of water. The fat cells break down after being frozen and must exit the body through bodily functions, such as urine. If you are not consuming a lot of water, it will take longer for the fat cells to be eliminated.
It's important to stay hydrated in general, and certainly when you've had any kind of cosmetic procedure. However, a gallon of water a day is too much and risks diluting the blood, among other complications. You need to drink a healthy amount of water (8 to 10 glasses per day) after CoolSculpting, but 16 (a gallon) would be too many. The water will help you rid your body of the dead fat cells. Consulting a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert in CoolSculpting can help you understand the process more in depth.
Hi mandujar930- Drinking fluids and staying hydrated after CoolSculpting may help flush the frozen fat cells, however it is not required to drink a gallon of water a day. Ask your CoolSculpting provider for a list of post-procedure tips and care. My best, Dr. Basile
It is always a good idea to be well hydrated to help aid in the process of getting the dead cells out of your system but this does happen over a long period of time. There are no protocols for an increased intake of water post CoolSculpting. Also, there has been no proven evidence that the fat cells will eliminate more rapidly.
Thank you for your question. Risks are bruising, swelling, skin burn from freezing, tight feeling, numbness, and indentation. It will take 4 months to see actual full results. I would advise you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed examination to...
Don't worry! A little redness after CoolSculpting is perfectly normal and will not last. Because CoolSculpting reduces the volume of fat underneath the skin rather than adding to it, your skin is not stretched. CoolSculpting uses a patented technique called cryolipolysis to lower the t...
Hello, thank you for the excellent question. Since CoolSculpting is not intended to be used as a weight loss treatment, it would not be recommended if you are obese. The ideal candidate for CoolSculpting is at or near their ideal and manageable weight and only wants to get rid of stubborn...
