I am a 34yr old women I've always wondered if plastic surgery was ever donated/ discounted surgery to people who can't afford it? I have a stomach disease and the swelling has stretched my stomach really bad. I have access skin that i would like to removed. I've also have angiodema which the swelling in my face seems like my nose shaped has changed. I would like to get these issues fixed but i can't afford too much. I can email pictures per request.
Answer: Charity plastic surgery Academic programs may offer reduced fee surgery performed by plastic surgeons in training. However, in private practice, there may be variations in price but not discounts per se based on financial standing.

Answer: Charity Unfortunately, there is always a cost to any service. And aesthetic plastic or cosmetic surgery is elective and not medically necessary in most cases. In that way, plastic surgery is seen as a luxury item. There are financing options that can divide your payments as low as $400/month for some surgeries if your credit is good. I agree that other avenues for lower cost surgery include training programs at larger university hospital programs where residents and students are trained in specialties such as plastic surgery. However you should understand that they are also training and learning, rather than using their experience as an independent practicing surgeon, so the results can be variable. I also caution against going overseas in an effort to get "discount" plastic surgery. As in all things in life, if an offer is too good to be true, it probably isn't. You only get what you pay for. Best of luck.
