How do I shower 3 day tummy tuck and muscle tightening?

I typically tell patients they can shower 2 days after tummy tuck surgery. All of the wounds can get wet and the goal is to gently clean the wounds with soap and water to help wash away any skin bacteria. I would not recommend soaking in a tub or swimming.

Thanks for your question.Each plastic surgeon has different surgical technique and post-surgical protocol.I allow my patients to take shower after 24 hours with antibacterial soap and water.  After taking shower, the abdomen should be patted dry and have compression binder placed back.Please contact your plastic surgeon for his/her recommendation.Best regards.

Good question, but one you should ask of your own surgeon, who knows what exactly was done.  Most tapes are water resistant, though not waterproof.All the best. 

You should be more than fine to shower at this point, as long as your doctor has advised that it is ok to do so. Gently clean the incision with mild soap and water, pat it dry and then reapply your dressing as instructed by your doctor.
