Should i be concerned about the tightness and tendons being pronounced in my neck after chin lipo.
Answer: Tightness In Neck After Lipo It is normal to still experience some swelling and tightness in the neck area after chin liposuction. Properly massaging the area can help relieve the tension you feel. However, if you continue to experience tightness and prominent neck bands, you may need to return to your plastic surgeon to ensure that you are healing properly.

Answer: Scar tissue contractions after neck liposuction I think it's reasonable to be concerned about the contraction bands in your neck after liposuction This is a condition that I am personally hoping to learn more about, what causes it, anticipated outcomes and how to possibly treat them. Often when posted by other patients recommendations will be to treat these as if they are platysmal bands with Botox. When I've seen patients with this condition in person they are very different than classic platysmal bands which are soft and do respond to Botox. The bands that can form after neck liposuction tend to be tight and string like. They seem unique to the neck area. In general they seem to improve over several months sometimes as long as six months. Patients have reported massage and stretching as being helpful. I'm a curious person and this is a medical condition that has not been well described in regards to ideology, anticipated outcomes and treatment options. I spent two hours today answering questions for patients on real self. I would be grateful if you would consider emailing me directly and giving me some history about your procedure. Specifically what type of equipment was used, how your provider describes this in terms of diagnosis or treatment options and preferably long-term outcome. I currently have 10 patients I'm communicating with giving me follow up. This is giving me a small data sample helping me understand this exact condition for which I don't have a name or no the best treatment option. I do know that patients generally do not respond to Botox injections for these bands formed after liposuction. Please click on the link to send me a personal email if you feel comfortable sharing your story and want to help participate in trying to resolve this condition. The good news is most patients improve with time. Best, Mats Hagstrom,MD
