I feel like my lower half of my face lacks so much elasticity for my age and I feel like my face is overall asymmetrical. I have prominent smile lines for my age but I do not want to get filler. Would getting a mini face lift be okay? I have provided two photos of my regular face and one of me lifting my skin to give the illusion of a lower face lift. Thank you.

Answer: Facial procedures at age 20 Your question is a common one, and I would say that in 99.999% of patients your age, a facelift is NOT the answer. Your skin is youthful and will respond to other treatments. Your photos are limited and you would need an examine, but based on what I can see, I would consider a buccal fat reduction. This would slim your lower face without any skin incision/external scar. Schedule a consultation in person with a facial plastic surgeon.

Answer: Facelift Age 20 is way to early to consider surgical solutions for facial again. Your photos look perfect and I would suggest sunblock and skin care that this time. You have a very symmetric and age appropriate face so no need for anything more.

Answer: Thanks for your question and photos… An examination in person would be required to properly evaluate you but it appears that the lower third of your face may be vertically deficient, which means that adding to the vertical dimension may benefit your facial proportions. A facelift tightens and repositions the soft tissues and skin, neither of which are indicated for you. Instead, augmenting your chin may be one possible solution. In addition, your occlusion needs to be evaluated to determine if there is the proper relationship between your upper and lower jaw. Please consult with a board certified plastic or facial plastic surgeon who can advise you on all of your options. I would not recommend scheduling a facelift since this is unlikely to address or correct your concerns. Best of luck to you.
