Hi, thank you for sharing your question. A CT scan or imaging is typically not required before BBL. A seroma is not physiologic and will not be present without an injury or surgery. If your doctor suspects a seroma, it can be imaged with CT or MRI and then drained by a radiologist prior to your BBL procedure.
Dear carrotcakes, seroma can occur after injury or some surgeries. Ct scans are not routine preoperative preparation for BBL surgery. In case you suspect of seroma, then an ultrasound can help detect it. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
First question is why do you feel you have a/some seromas? Second, a seroma may be diagnosed by placing a needle and aspirating the suspected area. A CT scan without contrast will diagnose if a seroma is present. While it is not dangerous to place fat in the presence of a seroma, fat injected into a seroma pocket will likely not survive and add to the seroma. Dr. Taranow
Ultrasound is an ideal modality for detecting fluid collections. It is inexpensive, simple and does not impose any radiation. They areas included should be all the areas where a seroma is suspected.Typically a seroma can be palpated or noticed an examination. If it’s not noticeable on examination then it probably isn’t of clinical significance.Someone’s history is important and giving you a meaningful answer.I suggest you discuss with your provider.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
I would not perform this surgery. Silicone tends to have problems without intervention. You are quite lucky if you haven't had any issues already. I would not risk it.
I recommend combination of lipo with directed BBL, along with minor inferior buttock crease skin excision. Understand you will have a scar in the inferior buttock. Fee ranges from $8,000-$18,000.
What an exciting time this must be for you! I am happy to hear you are going into this journey understanding that a tummy tuck and Brazilian butt lift must be done in two separate procedures for safety and comfortability while healing. Typically, we encourage patients to do a tummy tuck first....
Hello, and thanks for your question. Your BMI is actually closer to 38-40, not 195. I only operate on patients that have a BMI lower than 35. If you lose about 30 pounds you should be cleared to have surgery. Please see a board-certified physician for your consultation. Best of luck to you!...
I have and continue to perform an enormous number of silicone and biopolymer removals for patients from all over the globe. Patients frequently have the foreign material injected to improve buttock and hip proportions, but silicone, PMMA, and hydrogel can be and have been injected almost...
No, I would say that the muscle gain for the buttocks would produce a very minimal change in most women. However, I think that this can only help your physical and mental health. For most patients, the improvement in physique that can be made in 2 hours in the operating room cannot be achieved...
