I have and continue to perform an enormous number of silicone and biopolymer removals for patients from all over the globe. Patients frequently have the foreign material injected to improve buttock and hip proportions, but silicone, PMMA, and hydrogel can be and have been injected almost anywhere. The procedure only removes the foreign material and not your own tissues. This reduces the denting and deformity. After you have healed from the PMMA removal, you would have to be evaluated for butt implants or a BBL.
I would not perform this surgery. Silicone tends to have problems without intervention. You are quite lucky if you haven't had any issues already. I would not risk it.
Dear bregos23,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Very hard question to answer. The general response is there are higher risks of infection. Plus very few boarded Plastic Surgeons will undertake patients like you. I charge a fee of $8,000 if approved by me for surgery.
Each plastic surgeon will have their own view on the appropriateness of you having the procedure. Personally I would probably not do a BBL but I know there are others who will.Free silicone injections can cause complications years later. I recommend calling local plastic surgery offices and scheduling in person consultations to hear firsthand what each provider has to say. There is a little documented literature about doing this so it’s based on each surgeons level of comfort and experience.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
