Hi, thank you for sharing your question. You will have more fat to harvest from your abdomen if you choose to do the BBL first. This will also loosen up the abdominal skin further that can allow more lax skin to be removed during your tummy tuck.

Thank you for your question. I perform many BBL & tummy tuck combo procedures at my practice. But, if you're considering having the procedures done individually, then it makes sense to do the tummy tuck first. Then 4-5 months later, a BBL can be performed. The reason being that if you have significant excess skin and you get liposuction in that area, the area will look wrinkled, scarred, and irregular. Also, doing significant liposuction on the abdomen and then having a tummy tuck later can predispose you to wound healing complications after the tummy tuck. You could have the TT done first to remove the loose skin and tighten the abdomen. However, the result will not be as tight as lipo and BBL first and then TT. If you are in good health, both can be performed at the same time; but the upper abdomen cannot be aggressively liposuctioned at the time of the TT due to blood supply issues.

It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others.

It is a very personal decision. Usually in cases as your I recommend Lipo 360/BBL first. But never doing in person or virtual consult with you makes a response to your exact desires difficult.

Personally I recommend doing this as separate procedures for a variety of reasons

there are good arguments for doing the tummy tuck first and there are also good arguments for doing the BBL first.

Personally my preference and recommendation is to do the tummy tuck first. The exception for this is now being my patients who don’t have enough fat for a successful BBL in which case fat should not be thrown away as part of a tummy tuck that is needed for fat transfer.

in your case I don’t think it will be a shortage of fat so my vote is to do the tummy tuck first.

the main reason I recommend that order is primarily because the tummy tuck typically has the greatest impact and the biggest and most impactful procedure should typically come first.

The second reason I prefer to do the tummy tuck first has to do with scar tissue that develops from liposuction that can lessen the pliability of the skin and fat layer.

Having had previous Liposuction of the abdomen can reduce how much skin can successfully be removed with the tummy tuck. different plastic surgeons have different views on the importance of this but my experience has been that it can be a significant variable.

In the end choosing the right providers and following their recommendations is probably what’s most important.

The recovery from the tummy tuck will be longer and harder than a BBL.
