Concerns with itching after Brazilian butt lift. What is going on?

I had a Brazilian butt lift 13 months ago and 2 weeks after my surgery I have been itching really bad all over my body ( from head to toe ). Also where ever I scratch it welps and sometimes I get red small bumps after scratching. I can’t find anything online about it. Can anyone explain to me what is going on?

If it's been over a year I don't think the itchiness are related to your surgery. You need to see a dermatologist to rule out an allergic reaction vs. any other causes of rash.

Itching is fairly common after surgery. If there is any sign of rash or allergic reaction, that would be something different. My patients choose to wear a soft cotton t-shirt under the compression garment to lessen the itching.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

It’s not uncommon for patients to have itches and stations after liposuction procedures. This is due to sensory nerves that are slightly damaged during the procedure. The nerves typically regain full sensation by 2 to 3 months.

Scratching your skin can induce repetitive itching. The best way to stop the itching is to stop the scratching.
