Hi, I had a successful BBL in 2019. Great natural results on a slim figure. Unfortunately this year I have had lots of stress and lost weight. The butt has been the main area to shrink. Will simple weight gain restore my butt? I am 2 years post op and don't want to have to go for a round 2 if that can be avoided. Many thanks!
Answer: Weight loss after BBL caused the main area to shrink. Will simple weight gain restore my butt? Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. After a BBL, you lose or gain weight in the same way as before. So the answer is yes, if you go back to your previous weight, you should see your previous results, but I encourage you to maintain a clean and healthy diet, along with exercise. If you have any concerns, I suggest you follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Good luck :)

Answer: Weight fluctuations after a fat transfer Substantial weight loss will reduce the areas that have the greatest proportion of fat. In your case that would be your bottom after a BBL. once grafted fat has re-vascularized and is alive in its new location it will behave like native fat and fluctuate up or down with weight gain or weight loss. If you are currently underweight then gaining some weight will bring back your BBL. Most people look better being lean even if it’s at the cost of having a smaller bottom. Speaking purely in terms of the size of your bottom it will get bigger as you get bigger with weight gain. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
