What type of vagina compression should is best after lipo? (Photos)

Please help, I got lipo in 14 areas including my back, vagina and and upper stomach. Now they said it’s ok to wear a compression vest instead of full body. But I don’t want a puffy vagina. I’m two weeks out.. is it too late now? They’re not the best at giving advice.

Thank you for your question. Two weeks after Liposuction is not enough time to express a valid opinion. To reduce abdominal and belly button swelling, I recommend daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy 5 times at week for the next two months, and wear a postoperative girdle for two months at least.Kind Regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Swelling follows gravity. The area above you pubic bone is the lowest portion of the trunk stays swollen the longest. You need to be patient and it will go away.

Hello dear!!
Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
Each doctor has their own protocol It is very important that you talk to him and follow his instructions.
I suggest my patients to use a full body compression garment, 24/7 for the first 3 months, and after that, for 12 hours a day for 3 more months, to get the best results.
It is important for the compression garment to be very tight, for it to help with the swelling, after surgery. I ask my patients to change to a smaller garment as soon as the first starts feeling loose.
If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.

Seriously do you really think you received 14 areas? The state of Florida max lipo amounts is 4 liters! No lipo appears to have been done in the pubic area. That is the typical sales tool or hook used by these cosmetic clinics to fool the prospective patients they are getting more than allowed! You need in person second opinions from boarded private practice PSs in Miami. Revision lipo of pubic fees range from $3,000-$5,000.

The area you're referring to is called the "mons pubis" or pubic area. The vagina is an internal structure that is not treated with liposuction.  Likewise, the stomach is an internal organ that's part of the gastrointestinal system. The area most people call the stomach in regards to liposuction is correctly termed the abdomen.  Liposuction causes an immense amount of swelling. Gravity typically makes the swelling worst in the lowest areas even if that area was not treated.  Swelling may be unpleasant but it is not dangerous and has no impact on final results.  Personally I do not believe compression garments are all that important. I asked my patients to wear them for one week continuously except showers and during the second week they can wear them 12 hours on 12 hours off.  Other plastic surgeons put more emphasis on compression garments. I do not believe compression garments have any impact on the final results.  So that's my take on it.  I typically tell patients follow their own providers recommendations and protocols.  Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
