My pre-op appointment is in a day and I do plan to ask my plastic surgeon this question. But I was curious about this question after doing some research. I plan to have lipo on my abdomen and flanks.

Answer: Makeup During Surgery It is fine to wear makeup to the surgery center. However, it may get messed up from the mask placed on your face as you go to sleep, as well as tape sometimes used to secure it in place and to keep your eyes closed.

Answer: No Makeup or Jewelry for Surgery I would recommend removing all make-up and jewelry prior to your surgery. You may have some tape temporarily placed on your skin for airway purposes; the make-up may interfere with this. Also, your eyes need to be free of makeup debris so that they are not irritated. Jewelry, including rings, necklaces and piercings, should be removed. The metal in some jewelry can increase your risk of localized burns. Also, if you have swelling and rings on your fingers, the blood supply to your finger could be compromised! It's best to just leave it all at home.
