I can’t get rid of this weird pocket of fat on my hips. Should I do liposuction or CoolSculpting?

Hello and welcome to our forum. When it comes to liposuction vs. CoolSculpting, it depends on how aggressively you want to tackle your fat deposits. Liposuction will produce noticeable results quickly, but you will also have to undergo anesthesia and a longer healing time. If you are a candidate for CoolSculpting, it can be a good option if you don't want the downtime associated with surgery, but you will most likely need multiple treatments. A consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who has experience with both options can help you make an informed decision. Best of luck! 

The hips(flanks) and down to the upper outer thighs needs tum. liposuction to make a dramatic natural improvement under local with only 2 days downtime and back to the gym in 1 week. It is not painful at all and the results are very dramatic.  Don't waste money on gimmicky procedures that don't work.

Either may be appropriate, though liposuction results are more predictable and can frequently be achieved in one session.

If you have small problem areas you can use non invasive methods like Coolsculpting with Vanquish or trusculpt iD to get small areas of fat reduced. Skin also tightens if you combine this with Exilis Ultra, Venus Legacy, and Inmode Forma/Contoura radiofrequency treatments. You boost the results from Coolsculpting if you add in Kybella injections to melt fat as well.  We often combine Coolsculpting with shock therapy like ZWave, EVIVE, and Cellutone to get even faster results, more improvement, and less risk of combinations like nodules, swelling, neuropathy or paradoxical hyperplasia. Coolsculpting often takes a few treatments separated 8 to 12 weeks apart to get significant improvement.   However, to get the most fat removal, contouring, skin tightening and definition, a VASER HI-DEF liposuction / liposculpture procedure with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J-Plasma), InMode BodyTite and fat grafting is your best bet. You would be a candidate for either procedure, with liposuction you will see results right away. With CoolSculpting you may need to wait several weeks to see results and then you may need another treatment. With both procedures, you must have a recovering time, and you need to be patient that time. I recommend you to get a physical consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and She/He can help you to address this matter and give you the proper recommendations. It’s difficult to determinate which are and your best option with your photos.

xosis You are an ideal candidate for traditional liposuction, still a gold standard. The areas of concern are incredibly well defined and easily suctioned out, possibly under local anesthesia, if you so desire. I have treated many patients who were extremely disappointed with their results from Coolsculpting. Even if Coolsculpting works, it takes months and months for the final result to be realized. Traditional liposuction in your particular case with so well defined areas of fat will allow you to enjoy excellent results much sooner. it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Based on your photos, it does look like a fat tissue. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Based on your pictures, you are a good candidate for standard liposuction, to improve your hips, and I think you'll get very good results. 
In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.
I recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.

Liposuction is considered the "gold standard" for removing unwanted fatty areas, particularly where the contour of the body does not match any of the shapes of CoolSculpting applicators currently available. The beauty of liposuction is that the surgeon has precise control over where and how much fat is being removed. This is not the case with CoolSculpting. It is important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon familiar with both options to become educated on your available options. Make sure you opt to wear garments that will not distort the area during your consultation.
