Can I have a Tummy Tuck with my cholesterol levels high?

LDL, or low-density lipoprotein, is the "bad" cholesterol. A high LDL level can lead to a buildup of cholesterol in your arteries. LDL levels should be less than 100; below 70 if coronary artery disease is present. Ideal HDL is 60 or higher; 40 or higher for men and 50 or higher for women is acceptable.
Your current cholesterol levels will not prevent you from having a TT, but your PCP will note their fluctuations during annual exams and provide guidance in keeping them within a healthy range.

every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. You should be healthy prior to elective procedures. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Always best to ask your chosen operative surgeon a question like this......Since in my practice I would require a preoperative written medical clearance this would be a non issue.

Diet certainly affects your cholesterol and LDL levels so repeating them in several months is a good plan.
