What's the best SPF 50 and eye moisturiser product to use after laser resurfacing?

Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery.

Great question. The best advice is to follow up with your provider about the best skin care regimen to use following your laser resurfacing treatment. The right moisturizer for you will depend on a number of factors, including your skin type. As for SPF, it is very important to protect your skin from the sun, especially if you have rosacea. Try a physical sunscreen that contains zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide, which tend to be gentler on sensitive skin than chemical sunscreens. There are many brands of physical sunscreens that rub in clear and don’t look white.

I recommend using Elta MD, it is one of if not the best sunscreens on the market especially after laser treatments. 

I recommend following up with your Doctor about after care and sun protection recommendations. We use a specific protocol of exfoliation, hydration, and moisturizing along with protection after laser treatments. PDT therapy can calm any inflammation. After laser surfacing, it’s important to keep all areas treated moisturized. Immediately following the procedure, Aquaphor is an excellent and affordable choice. With regards to sunscreen, you want to use one that is specifically formulated for the face to avoid clogging pores.

After Laser treatments I always recommend the patient to use a physical block sunscreen by Elta MD. This line is chemical free. Most patients prefer the Elements which has a transparent zinc oxide, a hyaluronic acid for moisturizing the skin, 40 minutes water resistant, and protects the skin from both UVA/UVB rays.

HI!  Personally I really like products from Avene.  For post peels and laser, I recommend the Avene Cicalfate post procedure emulsion.  It's gentle, hypoallergenic and soothing!  For post procedure sunscreens, you should be using something that is mineral based so I like Avene's Mineral ultra light sunscreen.  They have a specific formulation that is mattifying and oil free and offers SPF of 50.  Price points are also excellent!  Most of their products are also fragrance free.... another important property for post procedure skin care regimen.   For the eyes, I like DEJ eye cream from Revision.Best,Dr. Huo

Elta MD is probably one of the best sunscreens to use after resurfacing.  It usually comes in a SPF of 47
