Yes, it is safe, however, I would wait for the symptoms to reside before planning the surgery.
Your physician is treating your mild case of hip bursitis with Prednisone for five days along with pain meds. Patients typically are also prescribed bed rest and ice. Having this condition flare up from time to time should not prevent you from having lipo and a BBL.
Thank you for your question. Bursitis is rare and most affects older women. It should not interfere with having liposuction or fat transfer to the buttocks.
There is no reason why you should not have liposuction and fat transfer once signs and symptoms of bursitis are gone. You should have in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in body contouring surgery. Good luck.
Dear Kind7533,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, you should be healthy prior to elective procedures. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD
Hello and thank you for your question. I don't see any reason why you cannot have liposuction and BBL, as long as you are healthy otherwise. I would seek consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon for a completeevaluation. Best,PejmanAflaki, M.D.JohnsHopkins-trained double board-certified plastic surgeon
Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well.Your condition does not prevent you from having plastic surgery now. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.Good luck :)
Once the flare up has resolved you should be able to have the BBL with no increased risk of complications. Best of Luck Dr Harrell
Hip bursitis is not a contraindication for high def lipo and BBL. In fact, we put all of our patients on a short term steroid regimen to minimize risk of hyperpigmentation and or scarring following surgery. If you are interested in more detail, I advise you to make a virtual consultation with a high def BBL provider.
Hip bursitis is more common in middle-aged and elderly people. It should not interfere with having liposuction or fat transfer. Both liposuction and fat transfer does best in younger people without skin laxity. I have no idea if that applies to you or not.I suggest having multiple in person consultations with experienced local board-certified plastic surgeons who have a Proven track record with this procedure.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
