Acne all over my face 3 weeks after surgery!

Question

I have never had acne only pimples in school but since surgery (which was 5 years ago)I have had full blown acne everywhere on my face! I naturally have oily skin but the oil that I wake up too is crazy!!! My top lip is absolutely covered in massive sore boils. Is this the rhinoplasty? Or is this not connected? I had a coil fitted 6 months ago surely if it was that I would have had the side effects before? my job is skin care and even they keep questioning me my is my skin going to get better?

Dear Reader,The acne can possibly due to irritation from adhesives used in the dressings after your surgery.  It is usually self limiting and may require some topical washes and treatments. As far out from the surgery that you are, I agree that it is not related to the rhinoplasty. I do think that you may need to be on some antibiotics and have a good look taken at the skin care regimen that you're currently on. Good luck!

It's possible this is a side effect of medications, or tape from the rhinoplasty splint, or else.  You should treat the acne as you would before surgery, stop taking any medications you are (if any), and cleanse the face a few times a day and moisturize only very lightly.

Your skin condition has nothing to do with your Rhinoplasty.  See a good Dermatologist for an evaluation.  Best wishes!

It is pretty unlikely that your acne is related to your rhinoplasty. I would recommend that you see a Dermatologist for valuation and go from there. Good luck.
