Hello I had 600cc silicone high profile put in 6 weeks ago, they are soft at this point but still high and not dropping. Left one was lower then the right one from the beginning but looks like it's dropping a little but, my right one is still high n not filled on the buttom. Left breast is by ratio. I am doing massage and strap at night. I was a small B to begin with, I'm 22 and never had a surgery before. I know it's early to worry but just need an opinion on how it looks. Thanks
Answer: Pocket dissection It appears that further inferior pocket dissection would help position the implants properly. If they are soft as you said, the skin has stretched adequately and further waiting may not show further improvement.

Answer: Upper pole fullness At six weeks, you continue to have upper pole fullness. Your implant is large and may require additional massage, upper pole strap, and time. Make sure to express your concerns to your surgeon.

Answer: Implants not dropping at 6 weeks! Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. Your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource when it comes to an accurate assessment of your situation, advice, predictions, and/or meaningful reassurance. Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery and massaging the implants downward may assist in the dropping of the implants after surgery (for those patients who want to help with the settling of the implants). The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, size of breast implant utilized, and concerns such as pre-existing breast asymmetry. Normally, it takes about 3-6 months (for some patients longer) to see the final result. It is very common for one side to settle faster than the other. Sometimes, one or both breasts implants do not settle as planned and revisionary breast surgery becomes necessary to improve the outcome. On other occasions, if the long-term breast asymmetry is mild ( understanding that absolute symmetry is very rarely achieved), patients will need to decide whether proceeding with revisionary breast surgery is worth the potential downsides associated with additional surgery. Again, best to follow your plastic surgeon for more specifics. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with long-term.

Answer: Breast implant settling over time Hi, Thanks for posting your question. I am happy to try and help you. It is important to remember that a board certified plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to an accurate assessment of your situation, and concerns. You should speak to your plastic surgeon. Online consultants are not the appropriate source of information for you; your plastic surgeon should be your resource when it comes to postoperative concerns. This is important because every surgeon has different perspectives, the only one that should be important is the one that operated on you ;)Having said that, it is common to have different women's implants settle at different rates over different periods of time. They will remain high for at least a few weeks. If your pre-existing anatomy has your breast creases or breast folds at different positions, they implants will settle to different places. So your preoperative anatomy has a lot to do with a final result. So does the skill of your plastic surgeon, size of breast implants, saline and silicone settle differently, skin quality and activity levels. You are still early so give it some more time. It may take 2-4 months to really see where you are. Best wishes, Dr. Michael J. Brown Northern Virginia Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Implant Dropping at 6 weeks Thank you for your question, your result looks very appropriate for 6 weeks. The larger implants take longer to drop. I would continue with massage, support bras, and return to your daily activities. Stay in close contact with your surgeon and you should see nice settling by 6 months. All the best.Dr. Gill
