Is it normal to feel tightness and stretching side boob pain 6 days post op BA?

Question

My right breast feels really tight and as if it stretching on my side boob it hurts to move and to touch it’s not zingers (though I get those too) is it Bc it’s my dominant side? I’m 6 days post op today and I just started feeling this way yesterday.. my left breast is just swollen and very high up but it’s soft on the side boob.

In my experience, all patients have one side that is more uncomfortable than the other. This is normal and does not correlate with any particular thing (like hand dominance). Stephie,What you are feeling is totally normal.  The nerves are sleeping for the first week or so.  As they awaken, you start having weird sensations.  It takes weeks to months to abate.Best of luck.Dr T

It is common to feel some tightness after a breast augmentation as the tissues stretch.   It can take several months for the breasts to settle.

Hello and thank you for your question. I have found that it is absolutely normal with breast augmentation to sometimes have a little more pain in one breast versus the other due to your tissue stretching from swelling and also from manipulation to create a pocket for the breast implant. I don’t believe it has anything to do with side dominance it’s just a phenomenon that can sometimes occur. As always though I recommend to make an appointment with your plastic surgeon because he or  she is your best resource.
