I want to have a BBL done
Answer: BBL The answer to this question would depend on the protocols of the surgeon you choose. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options as well as ask what labs/clearances you may need prior to surgery.

Answer: My Recommendation Hello Beautiful6286, thanks for sharing your question, every PS has his own preoperative protocol, and in some places it is mandatory under the PreOp have this test. You should be able to have an elective procedure done even being HIV positive, of course due to using disposable items for surgery might increase the cost. Make sure you go on consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Hope this helps and best of lucks. Dr. Luis Mejia.

Answer: HIV test and elective surgery In same places it is mandatory to have HIV test taken before undergoing elective surgery. Patient will not be denied surgery, but it is important for medical staff to know patient status because of safety concerns involving other patients and staff. Good luck.

Answer: BBL candidate Dear Beautiful6286, every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. HIV-positive patients can get elective procedures too so you should be honest with your plastic surgeon. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon. Answer: Do I have to take a HIV test in order to have BBL surgery? HIV status by itself does not disqualify you from the surgery, although using disposable items for the surgery will increase the cost. In general, people with HIV are legally required to tell others if there's a chance they could be exposed to the virus. The rules vary from state to state, and there are a few federal regulations, too. You want to create trust between yourself and your plastic surgeon; withholding your heath status is not a good way to begin the relationship.
