Dear carpeiem thank you for your question. Although specific times vary depending on who is performing the operation, the type of facelift being done, as well as if any adjunct procedures are included the average time for a facelift is between four to six hours. It may seem like a long time, but in healthy patients with a complete preopeative evaluation and the correct preoperative precautions the procedure is safe.
Usually around 2 hours, depends if other procedures are performed at the same time or not. If other procedures are performed, then the length of the surgery will be increased.
The time duration of a facelift procedure can definitely be from 4 to 6 hours and depends on the type of technique, previous surgeries, and what other procedures are going to be performed with it (brow lift, eyelid surgery, lip lift, etc.). You will be evaluated prior to surgery (Labs, EKG) to check everything in order to go ahead and feel safe about Anesthesia which is part of this equation. sincerely , Dr. Rafael Arenas Quintanadrarenasplasticsurgery.comInstagram.com/Dr.RafaelArenas/
Facelift surgeries typically last 2 to 6 hours, including time under anesthesia. Anesthesiologists carefully monitor anesthesia levels to ensure patient safety and comfort. Before surgery, patients undergo evaluations to confirm they can tolerate the anesthesia and duration of the procedure.
Thank you for your question. For a face and neck lift the average time is four hours although there are many variables that play role in these surgery like experience of the surgeon, size of the patient, other procedures done during the surgery etc…
Thank you for your question. The duration of a facelift varies widely, depending on the experience and comfort level of the surgeon. Every surgeon has a pace at which he or she is comfortable, and to take them out of that comfort zone is not optimal. I have seen average operative times vary from 90 minutes to 12 hours. To be honest, the best facelift I've ever seen was by a surgeon who was able to do it in a little over an hour. He did not hurry at all, and his technique was stellar. It was obvious he had a command of the procedure that was at the top of his profession. There was very little swelling or bruising. On the other hand, I have seen some very good results in the hands of people who have taken 12 hours. Perhaps the better question to ask if you are concerned about the anesthesia time (complication rates do go up with longer anesthesia time) is whether you want to do this with general anesthesia, IV sedation, or local anesthesia with some mild sedation. It all depends on the comfort of the surgeon and what you are comfortable with. I prefer the latter, as patients seem to recover better, and they remember little of the procedure.
The amount of time will vary between surgeons and also what procedures are included in your facelift; neck, eye lift, brow lift, nose, chin implant are all procedures commonly included, so yes it can take 5 to 6 hours. Be sure to see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon! Good luck.
Depending on the technique it may be from 3-6 hours. Your estimate does not sound unusual, specially if you are having the neck done as well other ancillary procedures like eyes.
The time a facelift takes varies considerably, depending upon many factors - these can include the technique used, the extent of the surgery, the surgeon's own speed of operating, any extra procedures that might be added (such as eyelid lifts) and much more.At the end of the day, it is more important to ensure that the right facelift for you is being chosen and performed - there is no "one size fits all" or "cookie cutter" procedure that is applicable to every face.Ensuring you have the right procedure by the right surgeon is key.I hope this helps - good luck
5-6 hours is a very reasonable OR / anesthesia time for a face and neck lift. That would be a total OR time, which includes induction of anesthesia, prep time, surgery time, dressing placement, and wake up. You’ll be in recovery for a little over an hour usually. Good luck!
