Many thanks for posting your question.I have to agree with many of my colleagues who have already posted replies - beware of any named facelift procedure - this is purely a marketing name.It is key to choose the right surgeon for you, and then the best procedure that suits your face and enables you to realise your goals. There is no one-size fits all facelift technique, and in addition, any "mini" lift, inevitably produces "mini" results, that do not last.I hope this helps
HI face57, It appears that a Lite LIft is a type of facelift like a "Mini lift'. The thing to understand about these type of lifts is that you will pay a fair amount for them, but do not expect them to last nearly as long as facelift that incorporates a full SMAS and skin dissection. Most importantly check out the credentials of your surgeon and the reviews of patients. Ask to speak with patients about their results. Look at before and afters to attempt to make a knowledgeable decision about the surgeon you choose.Good Luck!Dr. Christine Rodgers
There are a variety of marketing terms that have been created to sell a 'mini face lift' to patients. The truth is that the SMAS-based facelift techniques that incorporate platysmaplasty will last much longer and create a better cosmetic outcome then these other minimalist techniques.
Full vs minilift of whatever name? These are minilifts! Forget the name and select the surgeon who does natural surgery on faces like yours. Otherwise you will probably “participate in the learning curve “.
Some surgeons try to use new, catchy phrases as a marketing ploy to allow them to stand out in a crowd. However, essentially there is a full facelift and so called mini facelift. It sounds like you are describing a type of mini facelift. My favorite is the MACS Mini-Facelift. Developed in Europe, it is the ideal approach for the younger patient, not ready for a full facelift, or patients who desire a less invasive procedure with a shorter recovery time. Skin incisions are shorter and designed to lift the skin in a more natural upward fashion after undermining. ‘Loop” sutures are placed within the underlying facial and neck muscles, allowing the surgeon to tighten the neck and mid-face regions, improving the result and increasing the longevity of the facelift. The sutures eventually dissolve but the lift is maintained by unobtrusive, deep scar tissue. The operation carries a high level of patient satisfaction. Be certain to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Best of luck
Dear face57,Thank you for posting your question. Lite lift is a marketing term for a particular type of facelift. The only person who can accurately tell you what it involved is the person offering it to you. There are many different types of facelifts depending on the extent of surgery done and the exact technique used. To achieve any longevity, both the skin and the SMAS (underlying supportive tissue layer in the face) should be adequately addressed. The extent of this needed will depend on how much loosening and sagging of your facial tissues you have, the effect you wish to get and the extent of surgery and recovery you are willing to undertake.Beware of "mini" lifts...they usually have "mini" results and do not last a long time.I would suggest asking your surgeon for more details about the Lite Lift before deciding it is for you.Hope this is helpful.Best wishes,
Hello, Thank you so much for your question! I have to give you a disclaimer, I love facelift surgery. It is hands down my favorite cosmetic proceedure. Now specifically with regards to yourself some additional photos could really be helpful. In general if you need a facelift I would recommend going for it! When it comes to your question surgeons are coming up with new catchy things all the time to market their lifts and unfortunately most of this is a gimmick! A well done lift by an experienced surgeon can be quite life changing. Not to sound corny but truly it often changes many of my patients entire outlook on life. Many many different surgeons offer various types of lifts now days but at the end of the day the best way to protect yourself is to do the following: Meet your prospective surgeon, check out their facility, review their photo galleries either in the office or online and lastly if you feel the need speak to their prior patients. I always have patients willing to tell prospective patients about their experience in my care. I hope that helps and best wishes on your upcoming proceedures!Dr G
These are just marketing terms for a mini lift. Mini lifts give mini results, and we just don't perform them. A full set of facial photographs are required to make a determination by the appropriate surgical procedure. In our practice, patients have demonstrated facial changes of aging, we perform a high-SMAS comprehensive lower face and neck lift. This procedure accomplishes tightening loose facial and neck skin, tightening loose facial and neck muscles, lifting the jowls, and removing fatty deposits in the neck along with a platysma plasty. For many before and after facelift examples for our practice, please see the link and the video below
Lite lift , Feather lift, quick lift, lifestyle lift, lunchtime lift, quick lift, mini lift, you name it lift, thread lift; OMG you have found another one! The only person who will be able to answer your question is the person who is advertising that name. You see all of those words can mean exactly the same thing they are just words to try to convince you that this is something different and unique. Unfortunately it is not. The thing you should concentrate on is finding a board-certified plastic surgeon who can honestly describe the procedure that will be tailored to meet your needs and your goals. That is the most important thing. if you find a charlatan who is hiding behind the names of procedure they are probably also hiding behind their training and expertise. Be very careful! Your face is worth it.
There are so many different facelift procedures and variations of these techniques that it is impossible to answer your questions. Many of these procedure are named by the surgeons performing them. With facelift surgery I always advise patients to ask exactly what will be done and the changes that will be made regardless of what it is called. I also recommend that patients see multiple examples of patients who looked like them and the results achieve with the recommended treatment..
