Loose skin is a consideration after liposuction with or without swelling. However swelling by itself is not going to stretch the skin and create the problem.
I typically put in drains when very aggressive for this so that the skin tightens well post procedure. Compression is very important for you and a foam compression under the tight outer compression is essential. Lymphatic massage and venus legacy or velashape treatments should be started to enhance the skin tightening. Best, Dr. Emer.
Not to worry, the skin will not be likely affected. Only if you let it go untreated or do too much activity. If there is a seroma then your plastic surgeon may consider aspirating the fluid. Definitely restrict your activity ( patient often do way too much if they feel good) and wear compression garments. There may be some recurrence; but after 1 or 2 aspirations, the body will resolve it on its own. Go see your surgeon and be patient, you will have a terrific result!
Thank you for your question. It is uncommon, but discrete fluid collections can occur after liposuction. If this has happened, you may benefit from a small office procedure by your surgeon to help remove it. If this is normal postoperative swelling, then wearing your compression garment will help minimize the swelling, but it will take time until it completely resolves.
Discuss this with your surgeon to make sure you're healing as expected. Swelling is normal, but a fluid collection is possible.Read more about liposuction recovery in the link below. All the best.

I find that venus legacy and Sculptra treatments do well in this area if they are sagging post liposuction. Also, if non energy based liposuction was performed, VASER could be an option to tighten the area. Best, Dr. Emer.
There are a lot of different options, a lot of our patients use CareCredit, Proper Health Care Lending or M-Lend. You can apply online. You can also ask your bank or credit union if they would do a personal loan.
The way I perform liposuction, with tumescent anesthesia only, there is little reason to worry about the kidney IF the kidney physician gives clearance and the patient takes proper care of nutrition and post operative care. However, elective procedures should really only be performed on...
