Hello! I had my breast implants done in July 2020. I have motiva ergonomic 415 cc medium profile I believe. I healed really well and have been happy with them. In the past year or so, I have noticed a line between my breasts and thought this was just sagging? The line disappears when I lay down, I tried squeezing them together to demonstrate how they aren’t close together when laying down, but seem a lot closer when sitting up right. I found synmastia when I was looking online and am just worried this is what’s happened to me years post op. Thanks!
Answer: Symmastia Without examining you, this does looks like symmastia in the lower part of the sternum which is hard to fix. You might be able to get a better shape by reducing the implant size and uplift so that the implants sit higher.

Answer: Breast augmentation outcome To make a quality assessment regarding the outcome of any plastic surgery procedure we need to see quality before and after pictures. If you don’t have before, and after pictures, then ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. From the pictures you did include it appears that your breast sit wide on your chest wall and have significant divergence (your nippels point outward) . This characteristic is typically amplified or put on display with the projection of implants. The bigger, the implants, the more obvious these characteristics become.Synmastia typically happens when there is a connection between the two implant pockets or the soft tissues do not have independent attachment to the sternum. I don’t believe that’s the case with you. We usually assess breast augmentation outcomes from a standing position. It’s not uncommon for breast to fall to the side due to gravity, one laying on the back. The more someone’s breast sit wide on the chest while the more likely this is to happen.
