Thanks for the question Sue. It is a more common one than you'd think for a patient who had a peri-areolar lift like you did. Dr. Ruter here from Syracuse Plastic Surgery in Syracuse NY. The implant pushes out of the breast tissue and areolas and this may have something to do with the widening of your areolas. The peri-areolar breast lift you had left the scar around the areola, and could be revised by a plastic surgeon to help shrink the size of your areolas. Widened areolas and areola scarring is a common outcome with periareolar breast lifts. Seek a consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your options in more detail.

To make an assessment regarding the outcome of any plastic surgery procedure, we usually need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures.
If you don’t have before and after pictures and then ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took.
I’m guessing outcome combination of having had an aggressive augmentation with naturally large areolas.From the incision line, it appears your surgeon attempted to reduce the size with a purse string suture.
The size of the implant may be contributing.
Reducing your areolas further, without doing a proper breast lift may be challenging.
Having chosen slightly more conservative implants may have helped to some degree.
It’s important to know where you started to understand The outcome accurately.
