I had 22 year old saline implants removed. The PS took them out under so he could remove excess skin. Not sure that happened. I need a lift and a small implant. I’ve had one consult and looked at low profile 170s and they still looked too large. Any suggestions about how to fix and what type of implant to look natural on small frame? With the lift how can the inside bubble be corrected, the PS said a cut all the way up, huge scar. I just want normal looking breasts.

Answer: Breast enhancement after explantation As a general statement, I recommend patients not undergo explantation if they have any interest in having pressed augmentation with implants in the future. Once the implants have been removed, capsule and implant pocket will shrink down and have scar tissue, which can really make re-augmentation difficult and challenging. Recognize that secondary augmentation after explantation is not easy or straightforward. I would definitely rely on in person assessments exclusively. If you’re not going to work with your current provider, then schedule in person consultations with other plastic surgeons in your community. If it all possible come prepared, bringing with you and complete set of proper before, and after pictures and copies of your previous operative reports. it would be very helpful for any future surgeon to have a clear understanding of your surgical history. Recognize that augmentation after explantation may have issues causing you to need further revision surgery. Avoid virtual consultations and rely exclusively on in person consultations.
