Layout and Time Frame for Mummy Makeover?

Question

Hi! I am a 43 year old who has lost 60 kilos post weight loss surgery I am a single Mum with a kid with a disability so I am trying to work out how having a neck, arm, breast, thigh lift and tummy tuck would be grouped together in one or more surgeries. I know each plan is individual per patient, but I was wondering how best to plan my year ahead as I have a lot of lose skin and I notice it in my daily life. I know there will be revisions, but I need a rough idea so I can plan care for my kiddo

This is a difficult question to answer without seeing you in person and knowing more about your medical history. 
Massive weight loss patients are common in my practice. These patients usually require multiple stages to allow adequate time to heal and keep the surgeries shorter to decrease the chance of complication and the risk of a DVT/PE.
I would usually recommend starting with the trunk (tummy tuck vs fleur de lis tummy tuck vs belt lipectomy). This may or may not be grouped with liposuction of the abdomen and flanks. 
The next step I usually do the breasts and arms together 
The last step I usually do the thighs. 
This may vary from surgeon to surgeon but from a safety perspective its usually advisable to perform these procedures in a staged fashion.

Congratulations on your weight loss journey and achieving the target weight. Post weight loss , surgery should be planned based on areas of concerns and prioritised in such a way to minimise multiple surgeries. Generally people begin with tummy and breast and any other smaller procedure can be added. The limiting factor is total anaesthetic time for each procedure so that these are done in safe way. In order to minimize the risk of prolonged surgery and minimize anesthesia time, usually these procedures ideally should be staged. This also will smoothen the recovery time and facilitate healing. I usually stage these procedures for my patients depending on their priorities with out exceeding 6 hours of surgical time. This is usually enough time to cover two major surgical procedures. A good combination would be body and breast as one stage , thighs and arms as second stage and face and neck 3rd stage. Again this can be adjusted based on my patient's priorities.

Body contouring is best to be staged. Where to start depends on your priority area. Most people want to start with a tommy tuck and breasts. Because of your familial situation and the length of surgery if you add more areas,  it's best to have shorter recovery times and not do all at once. Once you come is for a consultation , a plan can be realistically formulated and then you can decide.

It is best however that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to determine whether you can have several aesthetic surgeries in one session, as this would depend on various factors including but not limited to your general health condition, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and the type of surgeries that will be performed among others.

I would not suggest doing all at the same time, and you will need 6 to 8 weeks minimum time between surgeries. Start with the areas that bothers you most, like perhaps your abdomen and breasts.  If you need an arm tuck, this is easily done with the breast lift to pick up excess lateral chest tissue. All this can be discussed during your consultation, and in what order.  I do not suggest doing your arms and your thighs at the same time. Congratulations on your weight loss!

HI Gorgeous198685, excellent questions. Every person and surgeon is different, so there's no one right answer. I would start by asking what areas bother you most, and start with those areas. I would recommend limiting to 2-3 body parts for a single surgery. If you're breaking it up into 2 surgeries, I would recommend doing the arms and legs separately so you're not as limited when caring for your kid. Hope that helps!
