Hello, I recently had a lip lift and 6mm were removed (my philtrum lengh was initially 22mm) now my philtrum is 16mm but I feel like it's still long and I am wondering if I could do another one like a revision to remove another 3 or 4 mm without looking weird or without having too much teeth show. Any advice would be highly appreciated
Answer: Lip lift revision Based on your photo, I can confirm that a revision is possible. Make sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon well versed in lip reshaping procedures. Best of luck !

Answer: It's important to consider several factors before deciding on a revision surgery It's understandable that you want to achieve the best aesthetic outcome after your lip lift. However, it's important to consider several factors before deciding on a revision surgery. 1. Healing Time: Your body needs time to heal after any surgical procedure. It can take several months for swelling to completely subside and for the final results of your lip lift to become apparent. Therefore, it's usually recommended to wait at least 6 months before considering a revision. 2. Proportions: The length of the philtrum can affect the overall balance and harmony of your facial features. The "ideal" philtrum length varies depending on individual facial proportions, but it's generally considered to be around 11-13mm for women and 13-15mm for men. If you reduce your philtrum length too much, it could potentially make your upper lip appear excessively elevated and result in too much teeth show, which you've mentioned as a concern. 3. Surgical Risks: Each surgery carries some risk. Repeat procedures in the same area can sometimes be more complex due to factors like scar tissue. 4. Consultation with a Surgeon: It's crucial to discuss your concerns and expectations with a qualified plastic surgeon. They can provide personalized advice based on your facial anatomy and surgical history. Remember, everyone has unique facial features, and what's most important is that you feel comfortable and confident in your appearance. It's always a good idea to consider non-surgical options as well, such as makeup techniques or fillers, which can help to enhance your features without the need for further surgery.

Answer: Upper lip revision Yes, more skin can be removed to improve the length of your upper lip. I usually recommend leaving 11-13 mm of skin between the base of the nose and upper lip vermillion. You could likely have another 4-5 mm removed.

Answer: Revision Yes, additional skin can be removed if you desire. It is not surprising that your surgeon didn't remove too much at one time, as I am conservative as well because once it's removed you cannot put it back. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Revision Lip Lift Hello, hope you are well. In my opinion, you have a nice result from your primary lip lift. It looks very natural, the scar is favorable, and the lip proportions and dental show are good. If you remove another 3-4mm, I think there is a real risk that you may be unhappy with the result for the potential reasons you stated. Sometimes the enemy of good is better. Best,Dr. Tower
