What can I do to minimize the appearance of my thick and puffy lip lift scar 5 months post op? (photo)

I had a lip lift 5 months ago and now experiencing my scar getting super thick and puffy. I don't know what to do I'm depressed. I researched about getting a steroid injection and notified my surgeon but he hasn't gave me the shot. What should I do ?
