I had open rhinoplasty 6 weeks ago. Will my tip get smaller?

The tip or dependent portion of the nose takes the longest for the swelling to resolve. It can take up to six months for all of the swelling to resolve and the tip to look smaller so I would give it time and follow up with your surgeon.

Your Rhinoplasty modifications will begin to take shape the further out you are from your procedure. In fact, the changes will be most noticeable at the three to four month post op mark. Thank you very much for enquire.It's too early to make value judgments with only 6 weeks after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Hang in there. You still have a lot of swelling. From what I can see on the photo you are off to a good start. It takes a good 3 months to start loving it.

You are still quite early in the healing process and patience is the best advice. There will be significant changes over the ensuing year and I would recommend holding off judgement until you've completed your healing. Hang in there!
