Hi , After nine days from the Rhinoplasty the left side o the nose very swollen. What to do? I find it hard to return back to work and i feel very bad. Is there any hope that things will get better? The surgery included : Nostrils reduction, Shortening the length of the nose, Aligning nasal septum. Thanks a lot, Jon

Thank you very much for enquire.It's too early to make value judgments with only 7 days after a rhinoplasty.Swelling after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity.In this regard, the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

The asymmetry of the tip is a difficult thing to do anything about at this point. Since you are so early in the healing process, I would recommend the standard post-op instructions of continuing to elevate your head when you sleep, avoiding things that make swelling worse (alcohol, salt, exercise) and keep in touch with your surgeon. They know exactly what was done in surgery and will be able to give you a better time frame on the healing. Best of luck
