I did cocaine 3 days before liposuction (under local anesthesia), will I be OK?

I did cocaine last night and I have liposuction surgery in 3 days. I only did a small amount (like 2 small lines) and my liposuction is only under localized anesthesia. Will I be ok or do I need to push my surgery?

Thank you for submitting your question. 5 weeks is still very early in the healing process.  You may have waviness and irregularities that will smooth out in the next coming weeks. Minimize activities, lymphatic massage, and use of your contour garment will help with your swelling....

Yes, liposuction can be performed to reduce the excess tissue and reshape the axillary region. I have also combined this with excision of excess tissue if necessary. Good luck!

Almost all patients have some asymmetry after liposuction. Nine weeks is too early to worry about a revision.

This needs lymphatic massage, drainage daily and tight compression.  It will take weeks for it to resolve.  A close watch should be placed on this.  If it continues to recur then placing a drain may help resolution.  Best, Dr. emer.

Your compression garment should be moderately tight, but should not constrict your movement or hinder your breathing. I would recommend talking to your surgeon and see if you can exchange it for a larger size.

It is always a good idea to remove all piercings for surgery to insure a more sterile environment, while minimizing complication.
