Liposuction results at 5 weeks. How much of my results should be visible by now?

I had lipo on my abdomen 5 weeks ago. The day after the surgery I was 10 lbs heavier and very swollen. I wore a compression garmet for 4 weeks and now during the day. At 5 weeks, I'm the same weight, seem swollen, and am still numb in areas. I'm not seeing much in the way of results, is this normal and at 5 weeks how much of my results should be visible by now?

Thank you for submitting your question. 5 weeks is
still very early in the healing process.  You may have
waviness and irregularities that will smooth out in the next
coming weeks. Minimize activities, lymphatic massage, and use of
your contour garment will help with your swelling. Liposuction will not cause a weight loss. Final results will
take 6-12 months. Discuss your concerns with your Plastic Surgeon.  Best wishes

At five weeks there will definitely be swelling present after liposuction. However by now you should see some significant improvement. More is yet to come.

frustrated with the progress of your liposuction results, ltbtampa, but it
should offer you some comfort to know that swelling at 5 weeks is fairly
normal. Over time, your swelling will diminish and your results will continue
to develop. To ease your mind, you may wish to schedule an office visit with
your plastic surgeon just to ensure that you're healing on schedule. Best of
